Psalms 100: 1-5
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us,
and not we ourselves; we are his
people, and the sheep of
his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with
praise: be thankful unto him, and bless
his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his
truth
endureth to all
generations.
Thanksgiving is the opportunity to recognize the amazing gifts given, to express appreciation, and to go forward prepared to share with others the bounties of life. It is often difficult to remember that Christ provided each of us with the greatest gift, that our Heavenly Father blesses us daily, but as we seal our hearts to love for them, and service and love to our fellow-person, we will come to better know our Heavenly Father, and our Savior.
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love.
Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
hither by thy help I'm come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
interposed his precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.
